Randy Kouri Memorial Golf Benefit

In 2011, a group of Randy's close friends decided to establish a golf benefit to honor the friendship they shared for many years. Randy was an avid golfer whose unique swing created many a comment. Not many people could pull of a "hitch" swing quite like Randy. He was also one of the pioneers in helping Racquetball get started in Sioux Falls and was well known for hosting the "Syrian Open."  Coaching was something he truly enjoyed and Randy spent nearly 30 years coaching youth baseball, softball and basketball.

In addition to his love of family and friends, Randy was dedicated to his faith. He strongly believed that it was important to provide assistance to those who needed help. He did so in a quiet, humble manner that kept the focus on the cause. He was always one of the first to help, and the last to seek recognition for it.

This focus on faith, family, friends and community is the legacy that his friends wish to carry on with this tournament. Doing so in such a way to bring the fun loving, genuinely caring personality that Randy posessed into this benefit. You can be sure the day will be filled with great memories, laughter and a memorable round of golf. When the golf is done, we will continue the good feelings with a party that will include a social, dinner, award presentations and music to celebrate the night.

Not only is this a celebration of  the life of a special person, but this benefit also serves as a fundraiser for a local charity that was important to Randy. In 2011, we used the benefit to assist the St. Francis House, a charity that Randy worked closely with. We are proud that the 2011 RKMG Benefit raised over $16,000 for the St. Francis House!
